A dripper is a water emitter placed on LDPE pipes or drip tapes in a drip irrigation system. The dripper is removable and can emit 0 – 70 litres of water per hour to plants.

Drippers are usually used for tree and fruit crops because they can emit relatively large volume of water within an hour. Tree and fruit crops need significantly more water than vegetable crops, hence the need for drippers.

The drippers are placed on LDPE hoses after punching of the hoses with a punch tool. Holes must be created on the LDPE hose before drippers can be fixed on them.

One of the merits of using removable drippers is that they can be fix at choice spacing on the LDPE hose.

How to Use a Dripper

The following has to be done to use drippers on the LDPE hose:

Ensure that the LDPE hoses are laid beside the rows of crops. The LDPE hose to use for this product is usually the 16mm diameter type.

Use a punch to create a hole at the side of the plant, gently insert the dripper in the hole

Pressurize the LDPE hose by pumping water into it; turn the dripper clockwise to choose the lires of water you prefer to be discharged to the plant.
